How Much for a Used Smoke?

Steeler Auction Mania has officially reached a new low. It started with Mr. Bill's Second-Hand Store Auction, moved to "Buy Ben's Ride", then over to "Buy Ike's Ride", and now here we are, discussing the investment potential of Jack Lambert's used cigarette.

The seller's fantastic tale of acquiring said butt:

"WHEN I WAS OUTSIDE THE HOTEL MAKING SMALL TALK W/HIM WHILE HE WAS SMOKING HE THROUGH THIS BUTT ON THE GROUND & I GRABBED IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE COLLECTABLE. HE SMOKED A FEW OTHER TIMES BUT HE PUT THOSE IN THAT LONG TUBE TYPE TRASH CAN OUTSIDE PLACES THEY PUT FOR BUTTS. IF YOU HAVE A PHOTO OF CARD OF LAMBERT,THIS WOULD BE COOL TO FRAME W/IT AS A CONVERSATION PIECE, YOU GET THE BUTT & THE SHERATON NAPKIN"

So not only do you get the butt, but you also get the used Sheraton napkin. I suppose it's some type of "certificate of authenticity" if you will. So tell me, celebrity garbage collectors...what kind of price should we expect on an item such as this?

An Update on All Things Ben

-Contrary to what you may have heard, Ben is NOT dating Meadow Soprano. Or Tony Soprano, for that matter. Here is a recap of the ESPN the Magazine piece that caused the buzz.

-Ben's truck sold for a final price of $35,270.00, which is approximately $18,340 less than the sticker. He should probably stick to football and stay out of automobile investing for fun and profit.

The much-maligned defensive back is listing this through the same person currently peddling the Roethlisberger wheels. I don't know how one gets the job as celebrity car consignment salesman, but I wish I had the idea. I've never heard of another business that gets so much free publicity.

Consider this ride pimped

According to the auction, the car was custom built for Ike at a cost of $60,000. I'm guessing the majority of that money was spent on rims and speakers.

Beautiful, just beautiful.

So what's going on with the Steelers suddenly selling their rides? Cash shortage? Coach Tomlin coming down hard on everyone's high-priced toys? Guys saving up for a new ride? All of these seem like rational explanations, but I'll go out on a limb and guess that Ike wants to go back to the good ol' days of dragging along Uncle Francois in a tire.

Buy Ben's Ride!

What is it with Pittsburgh sports figures and auctions these days? First we had the recent sale of Bill Cowher's leftover junk that didn't make the trip to Carolina, and now I get word that The Goateed One is trying to move his 2004 Yukon Denali on eBay! Yes, you can buy Ben Roethlisberger's very own truck!

Is that Ben, or is it Brian Jackson?

Included with your purchase of the truck is a top of the line, $6,450 entertainment system and 24-inch Dub wheels and tires ($7,500) with only 700 miles on them. So for the second time in less than a month, Steeler fans will have an opportunity to own the personal belongings of their heroes. If only the Roethlisberger impersonator saved some money and worked on his timing, this could have been the purchase of a lifetime.

A few questions, if I may:

-This is a 2004 truck...2004 was Ben's rookie year...does that make this a "Rookie Truck", and does that further enhance the value, much like a rookie card?

-Will Ben sign it for the winner?

-Can you possibly imagine who rode shotgun in this ride? Teammates? Ladies? Trump?

-Two video screens in the back seat...were they installed so Ben can break down game film while a chauffeur drives him home?

-Do the sellers realize they actually listed this twice on eBay? Better take one down, or we may have a disgruntled Steeler fan-situation on our hands.

-Will this finally be the inspiration for Joey Porter to finally auction off the J. Peezy golf cart?
