Pittsburgh's favorite rapper, Steeler-loving Wiz Khalifa, continued to ride his recent tsunami of success, getting his second "Rookie of the Year"-themed cover in the last four months in the form of the latest issue of Rolling Stone. He was also named ROY by The Source back in November and celebrated with a simliarly memorable cover:

Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow Hits #1
As predicted, Wiz Khalifa's Pittsburgh-themed smash hit, Black and Yellow, rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, so at least the city ended up with a big national victory in one form or another by week's end.
Wiz (no relation to timeless Pirate legend Sammy Khalifa) rose from last week's #4 slot, bumping Grenade by Bruno Mars from the #1 spot. This is the 18th week that Black and Yellow has been on the chart, and probably the last time a thinly-veiled Steeler fan song gets such national love.
Khalifa is also getting another magazine cover to his name, sharing the latest front of Vibe magazine with the aforementioned Bruno Mars and B.O.B. And next up for the Allderdice grad is the movie High School, where he co-stars with like-minded pot/Steeler lover Snoop Dogg.

Monday Steeler Quick Hits: Keisel Beard Me!
Give yourself the Keisel Beard treatment. I have a question: when did Brett Keisel become so marketing-savvy? Where was this hiding all these years? [KeiselBeardMe.com]

Speaking of The Beard, Keisel was recently voted as owner of the best beard in NFL history! [ChiCitySports]
In unsurprising news, Hines Ward has no plans to retire.
Call it a gut instinct, but I just don't see his Pittsburgh career ending well. He'll feel like he can still play when the evidence shows otherwise someday. Then he'll feel insulted by the Steelers, he'll get released, and then he'll play for some team like Baltimore. It's a recurring nightmare I have, but I've seen the Hines Movie too many times. Any perceived slight makes him want it more. [PG+]

"Peter King of Sports Illustrated writes in today’s Monday Morning Quarterback column that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told him he talked to two dozen Steelers while he was deciding how to punish Roethlisberger at the beginning of this season, and to a man, Roethlisberger’s teammates declined to say anything supportive of their quarterback" [PFT]

And in the realm of celebrity Steeler fans:
Black and Yellow is now the #3 song in America. Prediction: #1 within a week. [Billboard]
PG charts the rise of Wiz Khalifa. Most would describe it as "meteoric". [PG]
Snoop Dogg and his famous, drug-loving-yet-family-friendly lifestyle will be coming to Stage AE in February [PG]

SNOOP, SANTONIO, AND WOODLEY
The Publicity Hound That Demands to be Heard (also known as Snoop Dogg) just unleashed this video featuring two guest stars: Super Bowl Champions Lamarr Woodley and Santonio "Mike Vick Fan Club Member" Holmes. Try to contain your excitement; I've managed to.
Curiously, some faction of Steeler fans seem to be fascinated, nee proud, of the seemingly constant interactions between Snoop and their black-and-gold-wearing heroes. It's not something I've quite grasped, but I'm here to please. Enjoy your Steelers and their rapping canine friend.

SANTONIO AND SNOOP PLAY POOL IN THE LOCKER ROOM
Part-time Steeler fan Snoop Dogg, who gets waaaay too many mentions on this site, is shown in this excellent find from the Kiss 96.1 Morning Show playing pool with Santonio Holmes in the Steeler locker room. How one guy can infiltrate both the Steelers' inner sanctum and the Ravens' huddle is nothing short of unbelievable when you think about it, but as the great Dave Wannstedt always says, "It is what it is."
As for the real news of the evening, Nate Washington will suit up for the Titans tonight, while Lawrence Timmons will not for the Steelers. Other Steeler inactives as per Jim Wexell include Joe Burnett, Keiwann Ratliff, Shaun McDonald, Nick Eason, Kraig Urbik, and Tony Hills.
Tennessee has scratched rookie tight end Jared Cook, cornerback Ryan Mouton, running back Chris Henry, offensive lineman Troy Kropog, receiver Lavelle Hawkins, defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks and defensive end Dave Ball. PFT is also reporting that a lot of the Steelers will be looking for LenDale White's head during the game tonight, so you might want to put him on the Titans' injury list for next week.

WE'VE LOST SNOOP, BUT WE'VE GAINED SEAN PAUL
The man shown above clutching a Terrible Towel on the right is a reader named Jayshiv, and we've had him as a fan all along. But his counterpart to the left is none other than rapper Sean Paul, who happened to be in Pittsburgh last night performing at Bar Room.
As you can see, Mr. Paul (real name Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques) was graciously posing for the camera all night, be it with Mondesi's House readers, guys holding Henessy bottles while wearing Myron Cope t-shirts, or Super Bowl MVPs relaxing after a game. Consider these photos your termination papers, Snoop. Your services as celebrity hip-hop Steeler ambassador are no longer needed.

SNOOP HAS FORSAKEN STEELER NATION
I've heard roughly 50 billion times that Snoop Dogg is a die-hard Steeler fan, but from this moment on, that description and that rapper will no longer be mentioned on this website. Why? Because you'll never read a story like this about any real card-carrying member of Steeler Nation:When practice ended, Snoop went onto the field to break the huddle in the tradition of [Ray] Lewis.
"What time is it?" Snoop shouted.
"Gametime," the players responded.
"Are my dogs in the house?" he yelled.
"Woof, woof, woof," they answered.
In all fairness, Mr. Dogg and Mr. Lewis have something in common: "legal issues" sub-sections of their Wikipedia pages. They're like peas in a pod. And to Snoop Dogg, I say that pod can stay in Baltimore as far as Steeler fans are concerned. Consider yourself Canine non grata.

MAYOR STEELERSTAHL MEETS SNOOP DOGG

Undoubtedly the best thing I've come across in the past 24 hours, other than the new limited edition Pringles Onion Blossom chips, was this photo of Mayor Steelerstahl with Snoop Dogg taken sometime during the Super Bowl festivities and discovered by Sportsocracy.
Some might question the wisdom of a major city's Mayor posing for a picture with a man who boasts an extensive rap sheet (no pun intended) and is widely known to have a love of marijuana in a way Michael Phelps could only dream of.
But it's funny how our society works. Phelps is caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and he's a automatically a terrible example to kids everywhere. Yet Snoop Dogg repeatedly boasts about his drug use and is for some reason beloved in our country. Honestly, it would be more insulting to some people if Ravenstahl took a picture with Barry Bonds than with Snoop. And Barry never had any involvement with firearms or violence.
Of course, I'm being facetious. Luke Ravenstahl getting his picture taken with Snoop Dogg has no bearing on anything. Besides, there's a reason that people love Snoop while being tough on Phelps: Snoop roots for the Steelers, and Phelps is a Ravens fan. It's that simple, I suppose.

TANK CARTER UPDATE

Someone was asking a few weeks ago about the whereabouts of Tank Carter, infamous brother of Steeler safety Tyrone Carter. In case you've forgotten, Tank gained a level of notoriety for failing to report on time for his prison sentence, opting instead to attend Super Bowl XL and party with Snoop Dogg. It's become one of the more classic stories of Steeler lore.
As a result of his need to par-tay, Tank had 4 1/2 years added to what would've been a six-month sentence for driving with a revoked license. But he got to party with Snoop!
So people are wondering what Tank plans on doing for the big game, given that we haven't heard from him in a while. Well, the PG's Colin Dunlap did his due diligence to get the whole story on Tank's Super Bowl plans, and I'll spoil it only by telling you that Snoop's probably not going to be partying with Tank where he's at this year.

The Count is Out of Control
Thankfully, for kids' sake, PBS censors this out-of-control sicko:
Obviously the best Muppet-related video since Scorsese's "Sesame Streets"
Although the Drop It Like It's Hot video is quite hilarious in its own right:

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
By the way, just so this qualifies as somewhat related to sports, doesn't The Count look a little like David Stern?

Mahan=Super Bowl, Kwiatkowski time, Isiah Extended, Laraque Fight Video, NIT Brackets, Geico Cavemen Pilot
There's 946 billionaires on Forbes' 2007 list of the world's richest people. Obviously, this list was printed before Joey Porter signed his new contract.
Does the Steelers' signing of Notre Dame alum Sean Mahan guarantee a Super Bowl title? This theory says YES.
Congrats to Pitt and Robert Morris, both headed to the women's field of 64
The Penguins are ready to unleash Joel Kwiatkowski on the NHL
Isiah Thomas just got extended. Are the Lions and Knicks owned by the same person?
Congrats to the Big East, who landed three teams in this year's NIT Tournament.
In the "completely unshocking news department", Snoop Dogg was arrested on suspicion of using illegal narcotics in Sweden.
For the ultimate in laziness, here's a fridge that tosses you beer.
Here's video of the first-ever Georges Laraque Penguins fight from Saturday afternoon:
An update on last week's story about the Geico Cavemen getting their own show: here's a clip from the pilot epsiode featuring a little golf with Phil Simms
