Penn State Produces At Least 6 NFL-Ready Players

Well, the hammer fell today on the six Penn State footballers who were involved in an off-campus incident earlier this month. The sextuplet includes star defensive back Justin King (the same Justin King who received 30 hand-written letters from PSU assistant Tom Bradley in one day), safety Anthony Scirrotto (the Big 10 leader in INTs last season), defensive tackle Christopher Baker, linebacker Jerome Hayes, cornerback Lydell Sargeant and linebacker Tyrell Sales.
Scirrotto and defensive tackle Christopher Baker face the most serious counts, including burglary, felony trespassing, harassment and simple assault. King and three other players face charges of criminal trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Not good news at all for those young men or Lions fans. The inevitable follow-up question will be JoePa's reaction and any discipline to come down from the program or the school. And before you ask, yes, it is too late for these guys to declare for the NFL draft tomorrow.

Raul, you forgot to add the "Adam lengthy comment" tag under the labels. I know it hasn't happened yet, but any regular reader fully expects it.

Adam must be proud

That's too bad that those blowhards who wear those lily-white uniforms are going to have to trade them in for new orange unis! Couldn't happen to a more sanctimonious, holier-than-thou program! I wonder what kind of a spin 'ol Adam will put on this one?

Probably something like, "Yeah, well you forget that Ironhead
Heyward beat up a paper boy 20 years ago,"

guys, read the police report. that is the best way to understand what is going on. as a psu fan, here are my thoughts:
1) Scirotto probably should be suspended for a year, if not kicked off the team. Baker gets a year too.
2) the guys who started this are dbags. over on rivals, someone posted the myspace and facebook pages of the main "victim". i only saw his pic, but he is wanna be white boy rapper. the type of person who anyone would expect to behave like this.
3) i took from the report that king, hayes, sales, and sargaent were present, but never attacked anyone. they showed up after the fight started and then broke things up. they are in trouble for entering the apartment, not smashing bottles over anyones head.

So wait, being a white guy that likes hip hop means you should be beaten by football players? That makes it ok?

Look, I don't care what team we're talking about here. I'm tired of the basic fan attitude that "Anything a player does is justifiable to me, as long as they play for my favorite team."

I don't care if the guy's a Steeler, Penguin, Pitt Panther, or Pirate. If they're fucking up, I want them gone.

By the way, Brad's right. It's only a matter of time before Adam comes in here with a reply so lengthy that none of us can get through it all.

Why doesn't he ever comment on the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins? Is it because, like us, he likes them too and it's just not as fun to him without the conflict?

louis, im not justifying the fight. the kid who instigated this is supposed to be some fake hard@ss and when coupled with booze, morons will act this way. im not absolving scirotto of his responsibilty in this situation.

A more appropriate header for this piece would have been:

"Soon To Be Swept Under a Rug In State College..."

WE ARE....

FEL-ONS!!!

time for you pitt fools to give evidence that these 6 will not be justly punished. you morons love to jump all over psu since your team doesnt even register a blip on the cfb radar.

This is the 10th comment and none of them are from Adam. I'm worried. Adam, please let us know that you're OK. Don't do anything stupid. Everything is going to be fine. Just think happy thoughts like Joe Paterno, Shane Conlan and Blair Thomas.

Michael Robinson ring a bell, general? And Adam, its all in good fun buddy, come back from the ledge, let us know you're fine.
