Well, the hammer fell today on the six Penn State footballers who were involved in an off-campus incident earlier this month. The sextuplet includes star defensive back Justin King (the same Justin King who received 30 hand-written letters from PSU assistant Tom Bradley in one day), safety Anthony Scirrotto (the Big 10 leader in INTs last season), defensive tackle Christopher Baker, linebacker Jerome Hayes, cornerback Lydell Sargeant and linebacker Tyrell Sales.
Scirrotto and defensive tackle Christopher Baker face the most serious counts, including burglary, felony trespassing, harassment and simple assault. King and three other players face charges of criminal trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Not good news at all for those young men or Lions fans. The inevitable follow-up question will be JoePa's reaction and any discipline to come down from the program or the school. And before you ask, yes, it is too late for these guys to declare for the NFL draft tomorrow.
