Friday Afternoon at the Fights

Here's a few very entertaining Penguin-related brawls that just found their way into the Mondesi Inbox:
First, we're treated to a brawl in which Tom Barrasso literally gets his goalie mask punched off of his face by Bob Probert (at the 1:25 mark of the video) in a game from Tommy's Buffalo days.

Next, we get a heavyweight bout between Francois Leroux and Tony Twist from a few years back. I think it's funny when we hear the outrage of the Knicks-Nuggets fight but hear nary a peep from the national media when something like this goes down. I know, it's "the tradition of hockey", so it's OK.

I disagree with your stance on fighting. The Olympic Games are as competitive as hockey gets, yet I don't recall seeing many (if any) fights. If the league were more focused on enforcing the rules rather than letting the inmates run the asylum, you wouldn't see a spear without a five game suspension or a fight without more than a game misconduct.

How bout Probert and Twist both hitting refs during those fights. Times have changed.

How about Yzerman taking on McGuire. A pretty standup act for a superstar.

Dude... how can you even think about a brawl post without throwing in the McSorley/Probert one from 1994?!?

I've got it here, along with a couple other good videos:
