As predicted, Wiz Khalifa's Pittsburgh-themed smash hit, Black and Yellow, rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, so at least the city ended up with a big national victory in one form or another by week's end.
Wiz (no relation to timeless Pirate legend Sammy Khalifa) rose from last week's #4 slot, bumping Grenade by Bruno Mars from the #1 spot. This is the 18th week that Black and Yellow has been on the chart, and probably the last time a thinly-veiled Steeler fan song gets such national love.
Khalifa is also getting another magazine cover to his name, sharing the latest front of Vibe magazine with the aforementioned Bruno Mars and B.O.B. And next up for the Allderdice grad is the movie High School, where he co-stars with like-minded pot/Steeler lover Snoop Dogg.

"national victory"....i think not!
Wow, is this the best we can do? Hardly anything, or anyone, to be proud of.
Stinks.
Crap I can't believe he has the same tats as I do... I thought I was the only one.
Suck it Donnie Iris!
Ummm...nothing on the debacle that was the NYI/Pens game Friday night? Okay, not even that, but a very important Pittsburgh sports hero/owner of professional team here made some new yesterday as well. I mean, I love Wiz Khalifa as much as the next guy (look up Mac Miller as well...), but that is Pittsburgh sport news and what is going on with the Pens isn't?
I used to love coming to your blog and reading all the breaking sports info...
Oh...Pitt played 'Nova Saturday night and won. It came down to the buzzer. Quite an exciting game.
