It’s time for another buffet of links, going the usual 20 deep, in this week’s Best of the Web. This edition is rather Penguin-centric, with news on last night’s drama-fest at the CEC and the injury to Brooks Orpik, as well as trade rumors, a new job for a former Penguin executive, and high ratings for NBC’s Pens-Hawks game on Sunday. We’ve also got Steeler free agent talk, an absurd article on Big Ben, a look at the upcoming Pitt-WVU hoops game, and Jason Kendall being Jason Kendall, among many other tidbits. Because everyone loves tidbits, right?

Don left out Frank Coonelly's latest foot in the mouth " we will start spending when attendance goes up" comment!
He was asked if they had the capacity to take on $70M in payroll and he said not until attendance increases. So basically, they are operating as a ZERO RISK organization and admit that they are more interested in making profit over winning. Remember that free stadium you have there, Frank? Well guess who paid for that????????
John Russel is a 3rd base coach?!? Wow. That's gonna be the most lethargic windmill to send runners home in the league!!!
Also, an omission. Did anyne else see that a kid from slimy pebble is getting invited to the NFL combine for the first time ever in school history?

Ok, I'm not religious by any means, but exactly what did the Penguins do to piss off the hockey gods and maybe God in general? Maybe Mario and the rest of the owership, management and team should consider spending more time at the local church or temple.
You just know at this rate the Pens will be lucky to field a roster of Lepers and one-legged ice girls before the playoffs start.
I hear Vegas has a betting line on whether Fluery will last the rest of the season and if Bylsma gets hit by a bus on his way to Qdoba.
Kovalev's a Pen...that only means time for someone to get injured.
Orpik out four weeks with broken finger.
