Steeler Notes: Heath Miller Doubtful for Sunday

As expected, Heath Miller did not get the automatic green-light to play on Sunday against Cincinnati. The concussed tight end, knocked out of the Sunday night game on a $40,000 hit, was officially listed as "doubtful" today by Dr. Tomlin.

More Steeler notes from the weekly Tomlin press conference:

-DANIEL SEPULVEDA is officially lost for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, which is the third time he's had such a tear

-Former Penn State punter JEREMY KAPINOS was signed as Sepulveda's replacement. Kapinos has punted in 22 NFL games for Indianapolis, Green Bay, and the New York Jets since entering the league in 2007, posting a 42.9 career average per punt.

-BEN ROETHLISBERGER had surgery Monday to repair a broken nose and will probably wear a clear shield for protection on Sunday.

-MATT SPAETH (concussion) got a clean bill of health and has been cleared to practice.

-FLOZELL ADAMS (mild high ankle sprain) will be replaced by TRAI ESSEX if he can't go on Sunday.

-TROY POLAMALU (ankle) could be limited in practice for precautionary reasons

-AARON SMITH was cleared to start lifting weights after an MRI, and will be re-evaluated in two weeks after another MRI.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh is "SHOCKED" by the $40k fine for the hit on Heath Miller:

My brother brought up as good of a point as any i've heard as to why there was no flag on this hit. "The rule says that you can't make a helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver... it doesn't say anything about a helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless tight end!"

Hooray for Jeremy Kapinos. Getting a placekicker with a career 79% FG% and a punter with a career 42.9 punt avg, both after week 10, is pretty amazing!! Watched him at PSU and he should fill in nicely. He's not sepulveda, but he's def not berger or ernster either.

Great news on Aaron Smith. Cant wait to see him back on the field!
