Previewing the Top 5 Games This Weekend

I regressed badly in last week's pick-off, going 2-3 and once again falling behind the readers' collective picks (I lost on Penn State, as a reward for the one time I go out on a limb for them). But I'll try to get back on track with this weekend's Steelerless slate of games, including Pitt-Notre Dame, PSU-Illinois, WVU-UNLV, LSU-Florida, and a game I can't wait for, Vikings-Jets on Monday Night.

As for the Black and Gold, I'll consider this weekend a victory if no one shows up on either the police blotter or TMZ.com during their time off. A big victory.

Here is I view this matchup;

Brian Kelly vs. Dave Wannstedt.

Pitt will be predictable, try to run the air out of the ball with a mediocre at best o-line and go 3 and out more often than not.

Crist will have underneath routes open all day thanks to a 12 yard cushion and ZERO blitzing from "afraid to take a risk to win a game" Wanny. The defensive line will tire and ND will take what they can get.

If something doesn't work for ND in the first half, they will make adjustments in the locker room. When nothing works for Pitt, they will continue to try the same things ove rand over and over and over and over and over.

Unless Tino Sunseri can all of the sudden play QB and Pitt makes something foreign to them known by most FB coaches as adjustments, it's going to be blowout city.
