The Hot Button

Paris is bringing us five new topics for this week's edition of The Hot Button, but the video below, which plays a key role in Question 5, will probably generate most of the discussion. To JoePa or not to JoePa, that is Penn State's question...or in this case, your question.

I also have some stuff on Neal Huntington, Brett Favre, televised sports vs. in-person viewing, and the Steelers' first month, but we all know what topic drives the bus in these parts. I'm sure you won't let me down in bringing some opinion to the table.

1. I think he'll be here, but the pitching has to come from somewhere if this team really wants to compete. Taillon & Allie are both, likely, years away from the majors. They damn well better sign them, but if they want to finish near .500 in 2011 or 2012, we're gonna need something more than that. Maybe we can get a legit pitcher or two for doumit sometime between now & the 2011 season?

2. LBJ's leaving will unquestionably hurt his team more than #4's 'retirement'. And both players manner of informing their teams were severely d*ck moves. No question. Minnysoooota did nothing to prepare for this day, however. They didn't draft any QBs in the last 2-3 yrs. Maybe they have confidence in Travaris or Sage, but one thing's for sure. GB is walking away with that division title easily!

3. I totally agree, Don. The steelers ALMOST beat BAL with DD last year. & they clearly don't think too highly of him as a starter this year. So i see an upgrade there vs. last year's loss. I'm hoping for 3-1. Shoot, i'm still hoping for a 4 game suspension! Hopefully we'll hear more soon.

4. Now i haven't gone to a lot of steelers games in person, but given the opportunity, i would gladly choose to go see a game in person rather than watch from home. I don't know, it's just a totally different atmosphere. Maybe it's PSU rubbing off on me, but there's nothing like live football!

5. Hey now, we don't want to be FSU! Haha. I say let him retire on his terms, but i wouldn't be heart broken if a new position was created so that he could carry on in his basically same role. That way, Tom Bradley could FINALLY be named the head coach. Make Joe Pa the AD of football operations or something?
