Gregg Giannotti Moves to The Fan Morning Show

If you've ever heard Gregg Giannotti on 93.7 The Fan, you know how engaging of a radio personality he is, mixing a strong knowledge of the local sports scene with unique insight and a dash of comedy.

The city of Pittsburgh really seemed to take to Gregg during his various stints on different shows over the past few weeks, and as a result, he will be moving to the Fan's Morning Show effective Monday. The show will also have a new start time of 5:40 a.m.

The station will be undergoing some re-arranging, as Andrew Fillipponi takes Gregg's old slot from 6-10 p.m., and Chris Mueller takes Andrew's 10 p.m.-2 a.m. spot.

Jon Burton will fill the role of anchor/Steelers reporter in the evening, and overnights will feature "The Fan Rewind" from 2-5:40 a.m.

Speaking personally, I'd like to wish the best of luck to all of these gentlemen in their new roles. They have been fantastic to work with and I look forward to joining all of them on their new programs.

And on that note, yours truly will get a crack at the new trio of Alexander, Colony and Giannotti on Monday morning at 9:20 a.m. to discuss the highly controversial 60 Greatest NFL Players in Western Pennsylvania History list I recently released. If the early internet reaction to the article is anything like the reaction I'll get on Monday, I'm walking into a potential danger zone.

They promoted Andrew Fillipponi? Funny, I thought he should have suffered the exact opposite fate.

Burton was nothing more than a laugh track on the morning show.

As for moving Filliponi to 6pm, Pitt basketball can't start soon enough. As in playing games so he isn't on. If the sports brains of Thor Tolo and the voice of Ellis Cannon had a love child, it would be this guy.

Not to be critical.

I'll miss Giannotti on my drive home-- but I won't mind Filliponi filling in.

They should be getting rid of Siebel and Vinny. Siebel loves to hear himself talk (very loudly and melodramatically) and he only mentions that he played college baseball about 5 times a week.

Vinny is just plain awful. All he talks about is baseball and food. A lot of times he puts the two together. "Nothing better than a good ole American tube steak at the ballgame!" What a fat shit.

Great move. I was a fan of Greg during his various stints on the morning show and though that move should be made. However, I thought Burton, Colony and Giannotti was the best combination I had heard. Good chemistry.

So, is this considered a demotion for Jon Burton or did he request a change? I thought he was fine on the morning show. Giannotti has enough talent that he does not have to co-host with anyone.

I think the best of is a terrible idea.ive listened a few times an not only do they repeat sections of their shows, they repeat them every hour!im really surprised more people who work that shift and really enjoyed live local radio at that hr is not complaining. To me it seems like an easy way out and smells of money problems after only 6 months. So much for the false claim of 24 hr live programming.Goodbye the fan,ill b taking my listening elsewhere. To a real radio station thats LIVE 24 7.It was nice while it lasted.

pretty bizarre to me. I agree with the previous poster...Giannotti is strong enough on his own. For my preference, less is usually better so if you are going to have three personalities host a show, I would prefer at least one of them to have a lesser personality. Jon Burton filled a great role on the morning show. He chimed in occasionally and his laughter always put me in a good move. I don't like this decision. Now, we will have a competition in the morning on who can get the most radio time.
