CHARGES AGAINST TOMCZAK DISMISSED

It's been a good-news week on the legal blotter of ex-Steelers: first we found out that a green-and-white-clad Santonio Holmes was never actually kicked off a flight in Pittsburgh, and now news has been broken that simple assault charges have been dropped against former QB Mike Tomczak.

Tomczak was arrested at his Bell Acres home on April 26 after police were called after a domestic situation in which the former Steeler allegedly lunged at his wife and stepped on her foot.

"The call actually came from a friend that she was on the phone with to have our police department call her," Bell Acres Police Chief Brian Brown said. "When we called her, we heard arguing in the background and responded."

Charges were dismissed in the case on Tuesday and Tomczak attorney Bob Del Greco said the issue was a private matter, offering no further comment other than the fact that Tomczak's wife agrees with the decision.
