ROETHLISBERGER UPDATE

Kristina Green, aka "Niko", is a Kentucky-based entertainer (to put it nicely), and she has now been linked to Ben Roethlisberger in some capacity.

Brooks, who is all over the Ben story, has all you need to know about this. [SPORTSbyBROOKS]

"The Arnold Palmer Story" involving Ben is burning up the net today; actually, two stories regarding Ben and Arnie are nicely packaged for your review by PFT. And here's a spoiler alert: neither one portrays the QB in a good light. At all. [PFT]

***UPDATE***
A source close to Roethlisberger now tells ProFootballTalk.com that the Palmer stories "couldn't be further from the truth". So read them at your own risk.

Voluntary offseason workouts are underway for the Steelers, and Big Ben is absent. That probably shouldn't come as a huge surprise. [National Football Post]

I'm not sure I believe either Arnold Palmer story. Maybe the one were Ben and Arnie are on the golf course and then Ben later is perceived to be rude to Arnie's grandkids. That sounds possible. But the other story about him sneaking his way onto the course after he was told not to and then Arnie confronting him outside the shower sounds like a bunch of bunk.

I heard Ben Roethlisberger crapped in a urinal at the school for the Deaf after knocking an old woman down a flight of stairs on his way out of a burning building which he set on fire trying to get rid of evidence of him running over a blind guy with his motorcycle which wasn't registered and illegal in 49 states.

I too had heard a story or two about Big Ben being an ass in the past (I also heard a few not-so-bad ones too believe it or not).

But now it just seems like everyone who has heard from someone who heard from someone something bad about Big Ben is popping out of the wood work. It's starting to get ridiculous.

Maybe the guy's an ass, who knows? The bottom line is, I don't know the guy, nor do I know any other pro athlete.

I don't want him to be my buddy or my moral compass, I just want him to stay out of trouble and win football games. That's it. And it seems like Big Ben is only capable of doing one of those things.

I have no problem believing the Arnie Palmer story, regardless of what anonymous sources (aka "Ben's PR machine") say.

Stan & Guy told a story about him on the radio last week. I guess it was back in 2005 when he and Jason Bay were rookies of the year in their respective sports. Somebody (was it Sportingnews or some Pgh mag?) wanted to do a cover with them both. They said Ben was totally rude to Bay at the photo shoot, blowing him off and so forth. Ben's been a dick for a long long time.

And, yeah, that prostitute totally looks like a herpes infested shemale. I wonder how much Ben pays it to let him do the rough stuff.

Ben may be a jerk, or eventually have to face charges.

That said, posts like Chip's make me wonder if he just has a burr up his ass because Ben didn't sign his hat or wouldn't agree to a picture with him.

Chips philosophy thus far:

Negative story about Big Ben = the absolute truth.

Positive story about Big Ben = Ben's PR machine just trying to cover his ass!!

Just follow these general guidelines from now on if you want Chip's take on anything Ben related.

Once again, if Ben's guilty may he go to jail for a long time. And if he's not, may he just just shut up and throw the ball meathead.

BTW I also heard the Jason Bay/Big Ben story. I recall reading it on the web around the time it happened. Bay downplayed it and said it was exaggerated if I remember correctly. But he may have been paid off by the Big Ben's evil PR machine. Who knows?

Aren't Palmer's grandkids in their 40's by now? Why are they calling their 100 year old grandfather to protect them against Big Ben?
