NEWS AND NOTES

--Troy Polamalu defends the defense. If only the defense could defend somebody, the Steelers would be in business. [Trib]

--Willie Parker's dealing with a nasty case of turf toe that might keep him out of the lineup Sunday against San Diego. If that's the case, Rashard Mendenhall would have to step in. Gulp. [PG]

--The Stanley Cup and Lombardi Trophy will be on display in the portico of the City-County Building downtown from 8 a.m. through noon. Get your camera phones ready. [KDKA]

--Believe it or not, Harrah's Casino is facing another Ben Roethlisberger-related lawsuit. This suit claims that in July, 2008, an employee of Harrah's Cabo Wabo Cantina was fired after asking a woman who was with Big Ben to produce proof that she was over the age of 21. [PFT]

--Bill Guerin is among those slated to appear in ESPN: the Magazine's "Body Issue", where athletes are shown in various stages of undress. Also on the roster: Zdeno Chara. Yeah, this should help sell a lot of issues. [The Big Lead]

--Geno Malkin and Ruslan Fedotenko are getting a new linemate in Pascal Dupuis; Tyler Kennedy will return to the third line alongside Jordan Staal and Matt Cooke. [PG]

--Here's a belated but nonetheless interesting piece on noted diplomat Hines Ward meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak during G-20 week. Between Dan Rooney and Ward, this has suddenly become a very politically-connected team. [Brian in Jeollanam-do]

--Good news all around from Bucco Land: they swept a doubleheader of the Cubs, and John Russell didn't get booed. Even more incredible: two teams have worse records than the Pirates this season. [PG]

--Paul Spadafora moved to 43-0-1 with a unanimous decision against the hated Jermaine "Too Sweet White" last night. [WPXI]

--Chef Brad Farmerie, a '91 North Allegheny grad and August contestant on the Iron Chef, did well enough to advance to the Next Iron Chef reality show, with the first episode airing Sunday at 9 PM. [Trib]

Unlike Limus Sweed and Santonio Holmes, the NKorean Pres did not drop the ball once it was in his hands.

But it's all because of the offense and not the defense's fault, because the Steelers wouldn't blow a 35-24 lead. That's 11-points and...oh, wait minute.

Thanks for the link. It should go without saying that he's the South Korean president.
