The much-maligned yet Super Bowl-winning Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line just got an injection of youth with the third-round selection of Wisconsin offensive lineman Kraig Urbik. Urbik, selected 79th overall, was ranked as the #95 prospect overall by ESPN and #4 among all guards.
The versatile Urbik can play guard or tackle, which certainly makes him a more valuable prospect. A four-year starter in the Big Ten, Urbik has proven his durability, while simultaneously displaying his efficiency as part of a power running attack. Much like first-round pick Ziggy Hood, Urbik does not have the look of a perennial Pro Bowler yet appears to be every bit the part of a longtime contributor in the NFL. In other words, a three-star prospect, which is good value in the third round.
