Did Ben Roethlisberger Break His Jaw?

In between pointing out who or what is wrong in the world of sports (today's target: Kenny Rogers, if you were wondering), ESPN Radio's Dan Patrick chatted with "Insider" Chris Mortensen. The conversation started with Patrick's favorite topic, steroids (Shawne Merriman) and then segued into an injury update. Mortensen hinted that our favorite accident-prone quarterback could have a broken jaw. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if a Looney Tunes-style safe would fall on Roethlisberger's head while walking down the street. Someone (Seattle? Cincy?) is working their #7 voodoo doll HARD.
Heads up, Big Ben

Mortensen also added that Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck was getting an MRI today on his injured knee. He speculated that Hasselbeck may also be out an extended period of time. That would be both Super Bowl QBs knocked out in the same weekend. A first, perhaps?
UPDATE: None other than Pittsburgh's own Merrill Hoge is being credited with the report of Ben suffering a concussion, with no jaw injury. Hasselbeck is out 3 weeks with a strained MCL.

Of course, any injury to Matt Hasselbeck would be the fault of the officials.

Don't forget that Chris Mortensen also said that Matt Jones was the best player in the 2005 draft.

Big Ben is staring in the real life Final Destination IV. He is doing well dodging death at least! As for the playoffs, I wouldn't call it a hangover. I would refer to it as, "JACKED UP!"

Speaking of projected #1 overall draft picks, wasn't Mel Kiper the one that said Mike Williams was the best player in the draft last year? Yep, he's the best draft analyst.

Kiper and all those ESPN guys also said back in 2003 when Mike Williams tried to enter the draft early that he and not Larry Fitzgerald, was the best receiver in that draft.

Luckily, Mike's plea to enter the draft a year early got denied... because as we all know he TOTALLY would've overshadowed Fitzgerald as the best receiver in that class based on his NFL accomplishments to date ::snicker snicker::

Anyone else catch Merril Hoge rip Mel Kiper a new one on DVE a couple weeks ago?

I can't believe it...

I was being a smart ass in saying that the Seahwawks would blame Hasselbeck's knee injury on the refs.

Now, they're actually doing it. Hasselbeck is saying it was a dirty hit and EJ Henderson should have been flagged.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

That's pretty psychic, there, Cecil.

I don't remember Pittsburgh crying foul too much after Luis Castillo of the Chargers hit Big Ben in the knee with his helmet (last year's MNF game), though there was some talk as to whether that blow was on purpose or not.
