Adding his name to the list of Pittsburghers who've won Rookie of the Year awards, the Burgh's own Wiz Khalifa recently grabbed the honor from The Source magazine, and covers their latest issue donning a vintage Penguins hat. For an extra touch, he added an expression on his face that looks like he just smelled dog crap. Nice.
Alongside Khalifa is the cartoonish Rick Ross, the plus-sized Kimbo Slice-lookalike who was awarded Man of the Year honors. So sincere congratulations go out to him.
And in case you're not up on your hip-hop, here's Khalifa's latest hit, the Pittsburgh-centric Black and Yellow.

Big fan of Wiz and have been for a little over 3 years. Love that Pittsburgh is finally hopping into the hip-hop scene and Khalifa loves representing the 'Burgh!
If you dig him, check out Mac Miller, another up and comer out of Allderdice. He loves himself some 'Burgh as well.
You should post the video for "Pittsburgh Sound", which as the name suggests, is a very Pittsburgh-centric song.
After doing some research, I was disappointed to learn this artist is not named after former Pirates SS Sammy Khalifa.

Who cares...there's absolutely nothing "Gangsta" about Pittsburgh. Joker.
I want to like Wiz Khalifa so bad. I really do. But I just can't get into MCs that only rap about how rich they are or how great they are. Dude was rapping about how rich he was before he even got signed.
Uhhh.... I don't think Wiz is necessarily a "gangsta" rapper... Or are you one of those people that thinks that just because someone's a rapper, that he's "gangsta"?
He just seems to rap about smoking pot and getting drunk a lot, which is, let's face it, something that a lot of people in Pittsburgh (and the rest of the world) do.
I agree with you Nate wholeheartedly, but I do like Wiz. He's not my favorite, but he's not bad.
Give Mac Miller (Nike's on my feet) a look...kid isn't bad either. If you dislike Wiz at all, you will absolutely not like Miller. Just a heads up

Guess you can put him in that category. Gangsta. Thug. Criminal. But I don't want to jump the gun just yet. The great thing about America is that you're innocent until proven guilty. We'll see how his court date turns out.
Ahhhhh...ignorance is a thing to behold. I appreciate it so much every time I witness it. Thanks you
Rap is crap. Wiz isn't even FROM here. Anyone knows it's Black and GOLD!!!!
