It's time for the annual Cleveland Cavaliers Pittsburgh exhibition game, and without LeBron James in tow, the box office was going to need a jump-start. Who will save the day, you ask? Try Pittsburgh's own DeJuan Blair.
The San Antonio Spurs' leading scorer (15.3 PPG) and rebounder (7.3 RPG) this preseason, the Grizzly Blair will return home for a 7:30 appointment with the Cavaliers tonight at Pitt's Petersen Events Center.
The idea to bring in the Spurs got credited to Pitt coach Jamie Dixon, and it was a good one. The only problem is that the Spurs aren't exactly bringing the full squad to the Steel City along with Blair. San Antonio will be without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Richard Jefferson for the game tonight. Obviously, Cleveland will be without LeBron James.

Inexplicably a 2nd-round pick in the 2009 draft, Blair averaged 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 82 games as a rookie last year for the Spurs. It looks like he will be the team's starting power forward this season, and anytime you can crack a lineup alongside the All-Stars mentioned above, that's a very good thing.
Blair was spending yesterday visiting his old neighborhood and stopping in at Pitt practice, as well as getting his appetite ready for a home-cooked meal. “I told my mom, ‘Just make everything,'” he said. It will be a change of pace from those Eva Longoria-cooked meals that he's used to.
In case you're curious, here's who Blair will be up against tonight:

Isn't the John Seibel voiced commercial on 93.7 The Fan telling people about Antawn Jamison? Yet he won't even play, and neither will all of the Spurs best players.
Tell me again why I would pay money to go watch this?
No LeBron since he defected to Miami
No Tony Parker...
No Manu Ginobli...
No Tim Duncan...
No Richard Jefferson...
The Voice says....NO THANKS!
If I were in the area I'd maybe check it out just to see Dejuan....

....and I wasn't doing anything else that night.
.....or the Penguins, Steelers, or Pitt didn't have a game.
But other than that, yeah I would've gone if I still lived up there.
