Projecting the Steelers' Final 53-Man Roster

I figured it was high time to take a crack at the Steelers' 53-man roster for 2010, and thus it became my latest project for 93.7 The Fan. In the piece, I actually talked about each player on the roster (even those who I projected as those on the outside looking in), so it's more than just a list of 53 names.

I know some things can change between now and September 12, mostly because half the preseason games are still to be played, but just think how much fun you can have telling me I was wrong in a few weeks!

This may be a little nitpicky, but it says Smith, Keisel, and Hampton have 18 years experience between them. I have their combined experience at 30?

Also, I am not excited about Mendenhall at all. I was coming in to camp, but I am greatly disappointed in his performance and think he has really looked timid and shaky with the ball. He has a load of talent, so maybe it will materialize when the games really count?

Nice rundown of the roster. I agree with most of your predictions. The lone exception being that i like Anthony Madison over Crezdon Butler. Can the Steelers afford to cut special teams standouts? I know that's all he does, but i think he'll end up sticking around for another season.

That depth at LB/CB/WR all seem leaps 'n bounds better than it looked last season!

2 more weeks until the games count & only one more week until college football!!! whoo-hoo!

As a side note, Professor Jeremiah Lasky offered in the PG today to perform exorcisms on any of our guys if they should get into trouble this season!

The interview is actually a good read for people like me who are Steelers fans and horror movie fans.
