TODAY'S HEADLINES

Links a-plenty after the jump, but first, BREAKING NEWS: the Steelers traded a seventh-round pick to Tampa for Byron Leftwich.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators lock horns in a crucial Game Four tonight in Ottawa, with a 7 p.m. start.

It's an enormous game for the Senators, who certainly don't want to go back to the Igloo in a 3-1 hole, and a lot of the pressure is riding on the shoulders of goalie Brian Elliott, who looks for his second career playoff win tonight. Elliott has the lowest save percentage in the playoffs at .868 and has looked very shaky at times. It certainly wouldn't hurt for the Penguins to come at him hard right out of the gate, a la what they did on Sunday when Alexei Ponikarovsky scored a little more than a minute into regulation.

Defenseman Jordan Leopold will be out of the lineup for the Pens, as he is still dealing with the controversial hit from Andy Sutton in Game Two. Goalie Brent Johnson has recovered from his illness and will return as the backup to Marc-Andre Fleury tonight.

Former 56-goal-scorer Jonathan Cheechoo, the best hockey player to ever come out of Moose Factory, Ontario, will take the place of Ryan Shannon for the Sens. Daniel Alfredsson did not skate this morning but is expected to play. [PittsburghPenguins.com]

Defenseman Deryk Engelland has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the wake of Leopold's injury.

The 28-year-old had five goals, six assists and 121 penalty minutes in 71 games for the now-eliminated Baby Pens, and two assists in nine games with the Full-Sized Pens. [PG]

Jordan Staal is a finalist for the Selke Trophy, which goes to the NHL's top defensive forward.

Other finalists include Anaheim's Ryan Kesler and Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk, who has taken home the trophy the past two seasons. The award will be handed out June 23 in Las Vegas. [PG]

Pittsburgh Penguin Game Five tickets are actually available as low as $85, while Igloo seats are running in the $495 range. [Lava Tickets]

Mark Madden brings to light the a lawsuit from an alleged incident in 2000 involving then-Lion Charlie Batch, Lions S Ron Rice, Miami Dolphins WR Dedric Ward, and former Lions DB Ty Talton.

Madden asks a fair question of why Batch is perceived as a pillar of the community, yet Roethlisberger is Public Enemy No. 1, despite these eerily-similar accusations. [WXDX/Mark Madden]

Charlie Morton takes his great stuff and 13.50 ERA to the mound tonight, as the Pirates take on the hated Milwaukee Brewers tonight at PNC Park. [PittsburghPirates.com]

Walt Harris was officially introduced Monday as the new offensive coordinator at Cal U.

The 63-year-old (and might I say, I still can't believe he's 63) Harris comes over from Akron, where he was the assistant head coach and passing-game coordinator in 2009. [Trib]

Tom Bradley says he wouldn't be surprised to see 80,000+ fans show up at the Penn State spring game, and even the Pitt fan in me is overwhelmed at those kinds of numbers - especially considering the lousy crowd the Panthers got (less than 7,000) for their game.  [93.7 The Fan]

Ken Laird takes a very early look at the 2010 Steelers roster and places several familiar names under the "question marks" column. [ESPN 1250]

Ben Roethlisberger is now accused of taking seven cents out of  a tip jar toward his bill.  Hopefully this news doesn't get to Roger Goodell before he decides on the length of Ben's suspension. [Kiss Morning Freak Show]

Jim Krenn and Randy Baumann are having a playoff beard contest, and you can follow the action here. [WDVE]

Barry Bonds fans, listen up: a guy is selling a package deal of over 2,500 ticket stubs from games in which Double B paid...for the low price of $75,000. [Steady Burn]

PNC Park was the focus of one of the better-known Blue Jays' bloggers' 60-day, 30-stadium MLB tour in partnership with The Globe and Mail newspaper.

During his trip to the Burgh, the author dined on Primanti's (what else?) took in a rain-delayed Pirates game, and said of his trip, "Pittsburgh was truly a pleasure. I think I could live there." [The Globe and Mail]

I'm fine with a 7th round pick for Leftwich. He can quarterback a game pretty well if given a good defense and decent running game. I'd certainly rather have him back there than Dixon.

the deal is fine, but 4 qbs seems like a lot. especially when you can't really tag one as a practice squad guy.

Well, Ben will be suspended, so you need at least the other three to start the season.

Doesn't Ryan Kesler play for the Canucks?
