TODAY'S HEADLINES

Chris Kunitz's status is "day-to-day" and will likely miss the Penguins' 7:30 meeting with Washington tonight, as the Pens try to avoid an 0-for against a second Eastern Conference power. Entering the postseason with an 0-10 mark against Washington and New Jersey would not and should not inspire much confidence. [PittsburghPenguins.com]

Dan Quinn, the former Pittsburgh Penguin, is now a caddy for pro golf star Ernie Els

Quinn, a 40-goal scorer with the 1987-88 Pens, is a four-time winner of the American Century Celebrity golf tournament and will work 13 events for Els in 2010, including this week's Masters and the PGA Championship. [ESPN.com]

Bryan Bulaga, an offensive tackle from Iowa, is in town to visit the Steelers today. The 6'5", 314-pounder is a likely top-10 pick and the #2-rated offensive lineman behind Oklahoma State's Russell Okung.

The Steelers haven't taken a lineman with their first pick since Kendall Simmons in 2002, and they haven't taken a tackle #1 since the forgettable Jamain Stephens Project in 1996. [PG]

The Justice League Law Group is (seriously) the name of the firm representing Santonio Holmes' accuser, Anshonae Mills. After the Holmes case, I would assume that they're off to fight Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom. [JusticeLeagueLaw.com]

Jason Heyward, Atlanta Braves wunderkind, hit a monster home run  yesterday and immediately raised the question of why the Pirates didn't draft him in 2007.

Heyward was chosen 14th by Atlanta and given $1.7 million by the Braves. Pitcher Danny Moskos, currently toiling in the Pirates' minor league system, was chosen fourth by the Bucs and given $2.475 million. So not only did we miss out on catcher Matt Wieters, we also missed out on Heyward, arguably the top prospect in the league alongside Stephen Strasburg. I dare not dream of a McCutchen/Alvarez/Heyward nucleus.

Apologies for the brevity today, but I'm knee-deep in the Top 50 list. Keep those emails coming!

So how about there is a cornerback at IUP (that's what I said - IUP?!) who is a huge NFL draft prospect. He was a huge performer at the combine and has visited with a dozen teams already. Guess who hasn't taken a look at him...EVER...

You would think that with IUP being what - an hour - up the road they would take a look at a kid projected to go in the second round.
