UPDATED: ROETHLISBERGER CALLED TO PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE

Yesterday was a big day for Ben Roethlisberger, and it looks like that's going to be the case today as well. ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that Roethlisberger will meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell in New York at 2 p.m. today. Popular sentiment from talking heads is that either the Steelers or the league will suspend the QB for 1-2 games, and I would not be surprised one bit if that were the case.
------

In another Roethlisberger bombshell, an attorney based in Boston claims that six months ago, he investigated a case in Las Vegas that was "absolutely identical" to the one in Georgia.

Said Harry Manion, of Boston law firm Cooley Manion Jones, on WEEI-AM’s The Dennis and Callahan Morning Show:

“Six months ago I was hired by a client of mine, a good friend, to investigate allegations against Ben Roethlisberger in a Las Vegas nightclub that were absolutely identical to this Georgia girl’s story. The outcome was that the young woman did not want to proceed and we never took any action. There is a history here, and I can’t say any further, that is super troubled. Wow.”
UPDATE:

Here's the Mike Florio/PFT "legal" point of view on this story, as Florio says Manion has "placed himself at risk to a defamation claim by suggesting that there are incidents beyond the Vegas case that he personally handled". Florio also adds that in pursuing such a case, Roethlisberger would open up his entire reputation to scrutiny, which hasn't worked out well for athletes such as Roger Clemens.

I wonder when the alleged incident happened. 6 months ago the NFL season was going on, was Ben in Vegas at all during the season? Not saying it's not possible, but I question the billboard lawyer.

Interesting, I didn't know Steinbrenner had a son named Jay.

Wasn't Ben out there on the bye week with his linemen partying as some point?

Also, one of the police dogs his foundation funded for the Westmoreland PD had to be retired for biting a little girl as well. He can't win right now. Karma is B****!

@ Get Fresh - I agree, watch how fast he detracts his story as soon as he realizes he set himself up for legal retribution and after Roethlisberger's attorney's contact him. Stupid thing to say actually, as there is no case pending on his end and he and his firm have nothing to gain by making such a statement.

Probably just a Steeler hating Pats fan who let it slide without thinking...not like that's ever happened before.

Now Ben knows how Toyota feels. When it rains it pours and they'll pull crap out of the woodwork to pile on with. How long before we find out he punched a fellow cub scout when he was 9, or cheated on his Finals.

I say we hang him now before even that's too good for him.

Man, his hair kinda looks like Shawn "HBK" Michael's hair. Wouldn't it be great if Ric Flair snuck up behind him and gave him the ol' forearm to the nuts?
