TODAY'S HEADLINES

Ben Roethlisberger made an unexpected cameo on the season premiere of South Park last night, in a star-filled episode that also featured Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, Bill Clinton, and a host of others. Looks like the next airing is at 10:30 PM eastern on Comedy Central on Thursday night, and I would highly advise you to tune in.

The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to 0-6 against the New Jersey Devils this season with a depressing 5-2 loss on the road. The Penguins were committing turnovers at a Delhommean rate, resulting in five breakaways on the Devils' first 12 shots.

Marc-Andre Fleury was yanked with 9:43 left in the second period, surrendering four goals on just 12 shots. Brent Johnson saw just five shots the rest of the way, and thankfully stopped the bleeding, although the Pens did give up an empty netter.

Pittsburgh was playing without Evgeni Malkin (foot) and Eric Godard (groin), but this might just be a case of a team being in their heads. After Chris Kunitz got the scoring started in the first period, the Devils would score the next four, building what became an insurmountable lead in the process. Ruslan Fedotenko would score his 10th in the third period, but it was too little, too late. Game over, season sweep. And it doesn't get any easier, with the much-anticipated Boston rematch pending on Thursday night. [ESPN]

Willie Parker is visiting the St. Louis Rams, says ESPN's Adam Schefter. The market has been slow for the veteran back, who has visited only Washington so far. Ironically, it was an injury suffered against the Rams in 2007 that derailed Parker's career, but at this point, work is work. He would be backing up Steven Jackson, with any starting opportunities around the league apparently unavailable. [Twitter]

Kevin Hart had a disastrous outing for the Buccos on Wednesday, walking six of 12 batters in 1 2/3 against the Tigers. Hart has now walked 13 hitters in 4 2/3 spring innings.

On the plus side, Andrew McCutchen finished 2-for-3 and stole his third base of the spring, and Pedro Alvarez doubled and scored in the seventh. [MLB.com]

The Duquesne Dukes are done for the season, losing to Princeton 65-51 in the first round of the CBI tournament. Damian Saunders led the Dukes with 14 points and nine rebounds. Duquesne finished the season 16-16. [PG]

Robert Mitchell, the 2006-07 A-10 Rookie of the Year at Duquesne before transferring to Seton Hall, was arrested on Tuesday in Newark, NJ and charged with kidnapping, robbery, burglary and possession of a weapon, according to a law enforcement official in Essex County, N.J.

The chilling report from the NY Times says "Mitchell and another person were accused of breaking into a home in South Orange, N.J., duct-taping eight people and stealing credit and debit cards, driver’s licenses, cellphones, digital cameras and about $300." [NY Times]

Mike Tomlin checked out Tim Tebow at Florida's pro day on Wednesday. Let the insane speculation begin. [WPXI]

Cal Dunlap, the attorney for Andrea McNulty, has been contacted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, which wants a sit-down with McNulty regarding the new Ben Roethlisberger allegations.

Dunlap would have none of it, telling TMZ.com "We believe the facts alleged by our client are already in public documents. A case in Georgia ought to be brought or not brought on its own merits." [TMZ]

I think the Steelers should definitely draft Tim Tebow. Tim can preach morality and chastity to Ben. Ben can show Tim how a large uncoordinated oaf can be a successful NFL quarterback. And when they go out, the Steelers can hire Tebow's mom as a chaperone. A win/win situation for all.

The Steelers won't draft Tebow unless he's available in like the 3rd round.

You know how many interviews, workouts, etc they had with Ziggy Hood last year?

-NONE-

It's just a way to keep the other teams from knowing who the steelers are looking into. As you may recall, Tomlin worked at Tampa Bay, so he's probably got friends/family in florida he's visiting, so he decided to go down there under the presumption of watching Tebow when it was just a 'throw off the scent' and visit friends trip.

What an awful 2nd period last night. At what point does the PP and D's lack of anything productive put Yeo in the hot seat?

We were down 2-1, with a chance to tie it up while on the PP, but instead give up a shorty and consequently nailed our own coffin shut. Even tho it was the #2 PP unit, those guys arent exactly stiffs out there.

Obviously, the players are to blame as well. But that PP unit has all the talent it needs, even without Geno, and no semblance of order. Guerin has no business out there on the #1 PP right now, especially in a spot where the beast Staal should be playing. Also, Fedostinko got too much PP time.

BTW, did anyone hear how shocked Errey was when it was Stinko who scored? It was another great moment in the Bibster's broadcast career.
