This week's college basketball polls are out, and the 19-6 Pitt Panthers moved up to #19 in the AP and #21 in the ESPN/USA Today following wins last week over Robert Morris and then-#4 West Virginia. For what it's worth, the Mountaineers tumbled just a few spots down to #8 in both polls despite two losses, including the Pitt game and Villanova earlier in the week.
The Panthers will have two challenges on their schedule before next week's polls: a Thursday night trip to play Marquette (16-8, 7-5 Big East) and a huge home contest next Sunday against #3 Villanova (22-2, 11-1). Should be interesting to see the reception Scottie Reynolds gets from the Pitt fans in that one. If you have short memories, shame on you...but here's a refresher:
