As you can see, the much-discussed appearance of Ben Roethlisberger and his offensive line went off without a hitch last night in Wilkes-Barre. Ben guest-hosted and oversaw the first-ever "Diva Bowl", which surprisingly only left my television with three STDs.
Ben also hammed it up in vintage WWF/WWE style, sporting his trademark backwards hat, baggy jeans, and kid-that-hasn't totally-grown-up demeanor. Yes, it was cheesy, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world for a guy to do with his teammates. I'm just glad for Ben's sake that he didn't have to do this sporting a 1-3 record.

I had no problem with his appearance, thought it was completely harmless, I used to watch wrestling myself, but I can't help but ask why he would get involved in this? I don't think it's going to come off well with those who already are turned off by his backwards-hat-baggy-jeans personality. And seeing him eyeing up those Diva Bowl girls kinda left a bad taste in my mouth with the whole lawsuit currently going on.
from a PR perspective, hosting a diva match may not have been the best move for Ben when he has been accused (even if it appears to be a frivolous lawsuit) of sexual assualt...at this point i'd probably avoid any sort of activity that some may describe as objectifying women... i didn't watch the program so I'm not sure how it came off....just sayin'
Point taken- but mostly he announced it, the girls came out dressed in football outfits, then proceeded to wrestle with actual moves and stuff. Sure it's a women's match on a WWE show, so it automatically objectifies women, but as far as these things go, it was heavy on straightforward wrestling and light on gratuitous T&A. And Ben's involvement in it ended with his announcing of it.
I did see that WWE covered its legal back when they stated -
"No actual women were molested during the filming of this show."
I think Ed Bouchette said it best (and I'm paraphrasing), but although it's not a big deal, would Brady or Manning do that?
Indeed, I can think of more important things to worry about during the regular season.

If Big Ben had the maturity of Brady or Manning off the field he may very well ahve two more rings. He'd certainly have two less plates in his face.

that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. he won 2 rings in 5 years in the league. what kind of perfection are you expecting?
I don't know about the rings, but he is right about the plates.
Or possibly a lawsuit.
Again, I don't really have an issue with it, but he looked like a clown to me. What I really wonder is the mentality of the people actually watching this weekly or buying tickets to go watch.
