CONTRARY TO WHAT STUBHUB TELLS YOU, THE PIRATES ARE NOT IN THE PLAYOFFS

In the past five minutes, two different readers just sent over copies of an email they received from secondary ticket source Stubhub offering to sell them Pittsburgh Pirate playoff tickets. Maybe this ticket is dated from sometime in the future, because 99-loss teams usually don't qualify for the playoffs, at least not yet in Bud Selig's interpretation of MLB.

The site later rectified their error with an apology email, stating how sorry they were for the inconvenience or confusion this caused. You know, for all the people so into baseball that they didn't know the Pirates were out of it, yet were planning on buying playoff tickets.

Apparently it was an epidemic, because Deadspin also had reports of tickets being peddled for the Mets, Cubs, and Nationals. What, no Royals ticket offers?

Thanks to William and Frank for the heads up

... that's assuming that we still bother with written communication when the Pirates make their next postseason appearance.

I assume telepathic communication will be pretty widespread by then.
