NEW LOOK

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got around to changing the look of the site today. Although all the changes aren't finished yet, I think it's going to be much more reader-friendly. It will have all the old features of the last layout (blogroll, favorite articles, etc), plus a few new ones.

Another change is the comment link moving from the bottom of the post to the top. But other than that, things will stay pretty much the same, save for a few cosmetic differences.

I'll get back to regularly scheduled programming momentarily. We've got to talk about that breaking Dan Rooney Irish ambassador story, after all.

Send your news, tips, and links to Mondesishouse@gmail.com.

I agree. The ads look bigger, and the actual articles aren't in the center of the page.

All change is bad. Except pay raises.

for once I agree with Nightmare =p

Actually, the ads are all the same size, because the code got transferred exactly from the old template.

I thought the old site was a little sloppy and was a bit all over the place, especially the sidebar, which seemed to be growing out of control. I'll give the new look a chance because it was a decent amount of work, but if the argument against it is overwhelming, I'll consider alternatives.

I really like it. Looks much more like a website. The old design looked like a Word Document.

You definitely need to do something about the banner at the top though. You could just resize the old logo and put some text on it, but its gotta be an image, not text.

I like it. Much more like the Sports Blog Nation sites like blackshoediaries.com, pensburgh.com, and bucsdugout.com.

Heck, Mondesi, this site is far more reputable than most sites on Sports Blog Nation. I'm sure if they got a look at you, they'd welcome you with open arms. They have a lot more features than blogger for readers like fan shots, fan posts, etc. that a site with as many active readers as yours would thrive on.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I thought the old layout looked bad, so this is an improvement. However, I don't like when it looks like there are just as many ads as content, but that's just me. I hope you make a header, so that this page'll look like a Pittsburgh sports blog and not a placeholder for equifax.

not a big fan so far, but whatev.

Still working on a few things, including the header. Fear not, the logo will return.

Anthings better than that having to look at that pitiful FedEx guy, or whoever he was, that you had up earlier this year. That was hard to put up with.

Hey Santo, that stupid FedEx guy brought us a Super Bowl ring. I'd like to see him return for the Steelers playoff push next year.

Like the new look, but is the main advertising banner at the top really necessary? I think you could just stick with the basic Google text ads and the other ones down the side and the top would look a lot better. Just my .02!

I'm not afraid of change, I just really like the logo so it's good to hear that it will be back.

I do like it. I definitely agree about the sidebar. That thing was getting out of control. Having two side-by-side helps I think. Everything seems much more organized here.
