Anthony Smith, whose Steeler bio includes guaranteeing a win against the near-perfect Patriots, complaining about playing time, and crushing his own teammates in training camp, has signed with Green Bay. Excuse me while I do a dance of joy.
Smith will reunite with his former position coach, Darren Perry, who is the Packers' new safeties coach. I wish them the best of luck in their pursuit of a Lombardi Trophy.
If you haven't gotten my drift yet, I was not a big Anthony Smith fan. I realize that he may still have some unrealized potential, but better he tries to realize it in Green Bay. He provided nice depth at the position, but it was nothing that the Steelers couldn't replace via free agency or the draft.

I remember the coaches having really high hopes for Anthony Smith when he was drafted. Its too bad that the "guarantee" game against New England put him in a tailspin that he never recovered from.
