NEWS AND NOTES

--The Pens continued their love affair with extra hockey, dropping a 2-1 shootout to Minnesota in their 9th overtime game of the young season.

When the Wild play, you can count on a boring game, and in that respect, they didn't disappoint (which means they actually disappointed). I guess you could call this rare Jordan Staal fight the highlight of the evening:

There's not much else to say, other than the fact that the Pens had their six-game winning streak snapped, and Evgeni Malkin had his point streak snapped. It was a snoozefest. Next up: a Thursday meeting with Atlanta, a team that features Ilya Kovalchuk, Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, and our old friend, Johan Hedberg.

As much as I hate to agree with Smizik, he is right...the new Madden/WXDX format sucks. I don't listen b/c I'm just as likely to hear a commercial or music than Madden....and how can he get into a rhythm when he has to play a song every 4 minutes?

Epic fail...which is a bummer because there is not much left on AM...christ, I find myself listening to NY sports on 660.

I can just imagine Smizik sitting around with a clown stopwatch, clocking the time Madden is on the air.

Burgh blog was funny, but if isn't something you can attach your real name to, then odds are she was making a lot of stuff up.

The Madden format does suck. I'm sure he hates it as well.
