Very sad news to pass along on what was already a dreary Tuesday morning...16-year-old Kyle Wilson, the Central Catholic starting halfback, has passed away.
Wilson collapsed Thursday night while watching the McKeesport at Gateway game, suffering an apparent stroke. He was released from Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville later Thursday night and underwent surgery at Children's Hospital on Friday.
Central Catholic is scheduled to take part in the WPIAL playoffs, with a first-round matchup looming against Penn-Trafford on Friday. The school has already announced it will participate in the game to honor Kyle, albeit with heavy hearts. The game will take place in Fox Chapel, and will surely be a very emotional contest for the CC players.
