BREAKING: SEPULVEDA TEARS ACL, OUT FOR SEASON

The PG is reporting that 2nd year punter Daniel Sepulveda has torn his ACL and is out for the season.
The Steelers have already signed punter Paul Ernster off waivers from the Detroit Lions as Sepulveda's replacement. Ernster spent last year with the Cleveland Browns and was a 7th round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2005. The Steelers did not have another true punter in camp.

Sepulveda was a 4th-round pick in 2007 when the Steelers actually traded up to snag him. He averaged 42 yards per punt with a long of 59 last season.

This will have a huge effect on the special teams. Sepulveda was a damn good punter and was going to have a good season this year. Now we are stuck with the Browns' hand-me-downs. Shit.

Mondesi readers, always on the ball. The error has been corrected.

My apologies to Mr. Sauerbrun and Mr. Ernster for the mixup.

And by the way, Ernster might not necessarily be the opening day punter. Most camps are carrying two guys which means a lot of decent free agents in the near future.

I for one will miss his 30 yard shanks.

Hey... Kordell is available.

fat man on the d line, troy is not healthy...now a punter down. what else could go wrong? i guess losing a punter isn't the worse position to have lost for the year.
