PITT FANS NOT ALL SYMPATHETIC

There's a little bit of breaking news with the revelation that 81-year-old Penn State coach Joe Paterno was taken to a hospital for this morning for dehydration. Although it looks like he'll be OK, anytime you're 81 and headed to the hospital, people tend to worry.

Of course, the Pitt fans have no mercy when it comes to JoePa, so even in a moment of poor health, their message boards have been lighting up with one-liners, such as:
Dan13pitt: I was hoping for a heart attack but dehydration will do!!!!
and
Pitt25: Good God, just die already!
I know, I know...they're joking. But as we've seen time and time and time again, almost eight years after their last on-field meeting, the fires of dislike still burn strong between these two programs.

If this post doesn't bring Penn State Adam back, nothing will!!

I hate Penn State, but I respect JoePa. My sister went to school there, so it's not like I wish death on the guy or anything.

Apparently, the moderators didn't find those one liners as funny as everyone else did.

I hate PSU too and can't stand the fact that Joe Pa's pathetic grudge over Pitt screwing his Eastern Conference dream has ended the rivalry, but those comments make me ashamed to be a Pitt fan.

I have no doubt the vast majority of people who wish death on athletes and coaches never got off their fat lazy asses and played competitive sports in their lives. These are the same assholes who threw garbage in Tommy Maddux's yard because he threw too many interceptions. Get a F'ing LIFE.

Um, I think the hate's a bit one sided. Most of us PSU fans/alums really don't think a lot about Pitt anymore. Anyone remember when the Pens and St. Louis Blues used to have bench-emptying fights in the 70s? I thought not. Same thing.

While I can see a Pitt fan's point of view--having PSU on its schedule would certainly add a bit of prestige--I really don't think PSU owed Pitt any favors. All that "rivalry" stuff is in the past. Accept it and move on.

As a lifelong Pitt fan, I want JoePa's old bones on the PSU sideline for as long as possible. His presence guarantees that PSU will go nowhere for as long as he's around. He does less with more talent than any coach in the country.

Ah yes, it wouldn't be a "Pitt/PSU" post without a PSU fan coming in to remind us that they don't care about Pitt anymore. I mean, and who would have time to with that VICIOUS Michigan State rivalry they're all wrapped up in these days.

If PSU fans could care less about us, then why everytime I mention Pitt around a PSU fan do they proceed to talk a bunch of shit to me? Do you guys do that to Michigan State fans too?
