You can't really blame hockey players for not being able to act. You CAN however blame directors and editors for not being able to recognize hockey players can't act and proceeding accordingly.
I didn't understand half of the words in it but it was hilarious nonetheless...And you're right, the director gotta do a better job, although Talbot was hilarious saying "superstar" and dancing...Well played A&L
