Pitt Announces 2010-11 Basketball Schedule

The University of Pittsburgh announced their full 31-game 2010-11 men's basketball schedule today, and no one should have any complaints about a lack of national coverage.

The Panthers will be on national TV no less than 16 times this season, including two games on CBS and 14 on ESPN. They're booked for four appearances on ESPN's Big Monday, the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer at Madison Square Garden (ESPN2), the DIRECTV SEC/Big East Invitational vs. Tennessee at the Consol Energy Center (ESPN) and ESPN College Game Day on February 12 against Villanova.

The 31-game schedule includes 18 Big East games: one against each of the 15 other conference teams and two against South Florida, Villanova, and WVU. The non-conference schedule includes games against Tennessee, Maryland, Texas or Illinois, and Rhode Island. The Tennessee game and the annual Duquesne game will both take place at the Consol Energy Center.

The Rhode Island game on November 8 will kick off the 2010 season and home slate, with the first Big East game coming on December 27 at The Pete against UConn. The regular season concludes on March 5 at home against Villanova, and the Big East Tournament follows on March 8-12.
