LaMarr Woodley has been a busy man on the field in 2010, showing the Steelers (and every other team in the NFL) why he deserves to be paid among the league's top linebackers. Now, the star defender is using his talents for a different cause - fighting the battle against breast cancer.
Woodley is championing the cause for Lee National Denim Day, which takes place on October 8, 2010. Thousands of people, including the Super Bowl champion, will wear denim that day in exchange for a $5 donation to the Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF to support the fight against breast cancer.
Of course, there's an added benefit to your $5 donation as seen on Woodley's Facebook page, where he wrote, "Giving away signed game ball that I snatched vs Tenn to help raise $ for breast cancer."
Everyone who sends a $5 donation and changes their Facebook profile picture to this will be entered into the drawing for that ball. All donations will also be publicly acknowledged on LaMarr's Denim Day page.
Woodley's goal is to to increase awareness and help raise money for breast cancer research, and I'd say he's well on his way to doing so.
