Pitt Lands Durand Johnson; Jermaine Dixon to Bosnia

“I killed a lot of guys, I can’t really remember names.”

That's how Pitt's newest basketball recruit, Durand Johnson, humbly described his play last season. Sounds like confidence will not be an issue.

The team's third commitment for 2011, Johnson, a small forward, is a three-star recruit according to Rivals and a 91-rated prospect according to ESPN. Rivals lists Johnson, who goes 6'6", 191 pounds, as the #29-ranked player at his position and #125 overall in his class.

Johnson generated interest from a large number of schools, including UConn, DePaul, Florida State, Georgetown, Louisville, Maryland, Seton Hall, St. John's, and Xavier, but has been singing Pitt's praises for quite some time. He joins two previous commitments to the '11 recruiting class, guard John Johnson and power forward Jaylen Bond.

In other Pitt news, it sounds like Jermaine Dixon is taking his talents to a country called Bosnia, according to Jermaine Dixon. At least that's what Dixon told Sam Young on Twitter today. He also told Chris Taft that he's leaving at the end of the month, so I guess that's official-sounding enough for me to post it as news.

Normally, I'd be taken aback by a comment like that, but ever since the "Shoot more, shoot everybody" incident, I've grown numb to the language challenged ramblings of athletes. Just win and don't embarrass the city Durand and we'll be like peas and carrots.
