STATEMENT FROM HARRY MANION

Earlier today, an attorney named Harry Manion based in Boston claimed on WEEI-AM’s The Dennis and Callahan Morning Show that six months ago, he investigated a case involving Ben Roethlisberger in Las Vegas that was "absolutely identical" to the one in Georgia

I have since been contacted by Mr. Manion's firm (Cooley Manion Jones) with the following statement:

"Mr. Manion has no comments to add to those he made on the Dennis & Callahan radio show this morning regarding his brief involvement in a matter concerning Mr. Roethlisberger, which he disclosed prior to providing his legal analysis of the Georgia investigation as a legal commentator for WEEI, except to clarify by saying that the only similarities between the two situations of which Mr. Manion is aware is that they both involve a young woman and a nightclub. Mr. Manion did not mean to express or imply that he has any information that Mr. Roethlisberger engaged in any illegal behavior. All other information, apart from Mr. Manion being retained, is confidential."

So let me get this straight, Ben was in a nightclub in Vegas. In this Vegas nightclub, there were women?

Ben was also in a nightlcub in GA. There were women in that nightclub, too.

So, with those overwhelming circumstances, we can deduce that Ben Roethlisberger has been in the company of women in TWO separate nightclubs in TWO separate states at different times?

Mindblowing.

Harry Manion > Perry Mason????

And I am sorry, but he ABSOLUTELY meant to imply illegal behavior.

I might be completely wrong, but if this lawyer comes out and tosses this out into the public but refuses to comment on it....can't he be walking a tightrope for a slander/libel case?

I mean this guy only put this out there to get his name out publicly because he sure is backtracking rather quickly right now.

Sure Ben's name is mud right now, but there's no reason to bring this out now especially when the lawyers findings led to no charges being filed.

Cooley Manion Jones is an R & B singer from the 70's, right?

Ben can't sue him for slander/libel because in the trial, the lawyer when then be allowed to prove what he said was true. In other words, he could put Ben on the stand and start asking him "Did you go to Vegas six months ago? Did you bang a drunk coed in a small bathroom? Did you forget your roofies that night or is this just your usual move?"

I don't think Ben wants to answer those questions.

But, yeah, that attorney is being a weasel. When you say "the situations were identical" you're clearly implying that in both cases the woman thought she was assaulted/raped.

Agree with BurressW/BW & CHIP. This man had no other purpose BUT to suggest/imply illegal behavior on another night. What total BS. Why can't he just say, 'yeah i said it & i meant it. unfortunately, that case was also closed early, so i was unable to prove it.' ...because that's sooo sooo obviously what he intended.

Harry Manion --> Harry Manback?

Manion's one of those claim jumping lawyers that loves his name in the media. If you're famous he'll ride you to the press room and morals take a back seat.
