The NHL announced the finalists for the 2009-10 Hart Trophy (league regular season MVP), and they are...
Sidney Crosby (51 goals/58 assists/109 points)
Alex Ovechkin (50/59/109)
Henrik Sedin (29/83/112)
For the record, Crosby's won once (2006-07), Ovechkin's taken home the last two, and Sedin's just happy to be there. Actually, this is the first time Sedin has topped the century mark in points, with his previous high being 82 points in 2008-09.
The winner is announced June 23 at the year-end awards ceremony in Las Vegas, but I don't feel like waiting that long for the results and figured we could vote on it right now.

There would be no question about the Hart Trophy winner if the vote was taken this very minute.
Is there really any mystery here. Ovechkin, aka Mr October, will take it again.
Poor Crosby, he'll have to settle for the Conn Smythe, while his team has to settle for the Stanley.
If only the Penguins were talented enough to finish first in the regular season.
Sure, it may be a homer pick, but my vote goes to Sid. I'm also interested to see what kind of recognition Sid may get in the Lester B. Pearson/Lindsay Award as voted on by his fellow players.
I want Sedin to win it. Having a quietly irritated Sidney Crosby is really bad news for the rest of the league. Plus, at least Sedin deserves it and isn't a turd-flopper like Ovechkin. (Laughed my goddamn ass off reading the Caps message board lately.) "Ovechkin puts the 8 in ELIMINATION."
How about: Can't spell Ovechkin without a C-H-O-K-E
Obviously, Alex Ovechkin is the best hockey player in the world. He scored more goals and points than anybody in the league, right? Oh no, that was 2 years ago.....
Wait, at least he is unselfish, a ferocious back-checker, has undeniable passion, wins 50/50 battles, digs out pucks on the boards, blocks shots, and makes beautiful passes to set up his teammates and make those around him better. Ummm, yeah maybe not that either.....
The problem is we are homers. We're acting like Crosby scored more goals than Ovie despite taking far less shots and playing a setup position.......
But, Mongo was like a plus 200. And his team won the division
( yet their 2nd best team was 2 spots out of the playoffs BTW).
He can have the Hart, Sid can take the Smythe and Lord Stanley instead!
Overrated won't win the Hart, it'll be either Sid or Sedin and either would be just as deserving.
I think even the clueless NHL writers are coming around and starting to smell what Ovechkin's been cooking with his one-dimensional play, cheap hits and arrogant attitude on and off the ice and even though the playoffs don't count in the voting, there's now way it subliminally doesn't effect the voter decision. If the Great Elimin8tion wins then Sid should give back his first Hart, as it's obviously a worthless, tainted joke not worth the scrap metal it's made of.
