NO OFFER YET FOR RYAN CLARK

There's been lots of talk about a new contract for Steelers free agent safety Ryan Clark of late, so the noted media-basher took matters into his own hands on Monday, telling his side of the story to former teammate Mike Logan and friends on 1250 ESPN's The Drive. An excerpt:
"To be honest with you guys, I haven't had an offer yet. Nothing put to paper or even said verbally. You know Mike [Logan], we want to get this thing done. Bend over backwards to get it done before the season or something. You hear so much about being a priority and things like that...

If you think about it, there's been a number of guys that have signed contracts and I haven't been offered. It's been Heath Miller, Justin Hartwig, Brett Keisel, Casey [Hampton], Jeff [Reed]. It's not like one guy got signed, the well ran dry, and there's nothing they can do. It hasn't been that. So if you think about priorities and prioritizing, obviously I was way down the list as that goes."
I appreciate his honesty, but the last time I checked, the Steelers aren't too keen on negotiating deals through the media. I thought the chances of Clark coming back were high last week, but after hearing this, let's just say I've lost a bit of confidence that he will be in a Steeler uniform in the future.

Wow. If only he was as good at safety as he is running his big mouth, maybe he would have a legitimate beef.

He seems like a good person or whatever, but his mouth writes checks his butt can't cash. In my opinion, he was exposed last season without our superhuman SS playing next to him.

Watch the season in review and see how many times Ryan Clark whiffs, fails to play the ball (and whiffs), and just plain gets outrun to the perimeter.
