It's been well-established that I was not too bright in taunting Mother Nature late last week. I believe the famous last words were, "Actually, it's just some snow. I've heard anywhere from 4-12 inches, but the news has people preparing as if it were 100 inches." Nice.
Let me tell you, the next time I hear 4-12 inches, I'm preparing as if it were 100 inches. The power went out at 10 PM on Friday and still hasn't come back. This is the first crack I've had at an actual computer since then, so obviously there's a lot to catch up on. Of the top of my head: Pens-Caps and the ridiculously difficult trip to DC, Pitt-Seton Hall, three guys with local ties getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, and last but not least, the Super Bowl.
So while I get things back up to speed, feel free to take the discussion in whatever direction you like. I promise to be back a little later today with some responsible, rumor-free blogging for your enjoyment. And if you've got something you'd like me to discuss, by all means, share it through the methods below.

Tough day yesterday in our house. I was crushed by the Pens lost (most upset about a loss maybe since we lost the 2008 SCF?) and the wife (from Indy) was bummed about the Colts defeat.
Good Super Bowl, but not better than either of the 2 previous.
Prayers for everyone in the cold w/o power. Hope it comes back soon.
I have to voice my total disgust at the city of Pittsburgh in how they have handled this snow storm. My street (as well as every other street in the neighborhood) has yet to see a snow plow. I realize 20 inches of snow is a lot to deal with, but in 48 hours they can't do anything??
Honestly, it's a complete joke. Cities like Buffalo are laughing at us right now.
@AJ I hear ya - my girlfriend lived in NY for awhile, and said that when there was too much snow to plow, they would bring in small bobcats, load up dump trucks and dump the snow in parks. My Street, Summerlea still wasn't touched this morning, and we had to dig out. But, understand Pittsburgh does not usually see a storm like this, not like NY normally would. I'm willing to give Luke a pass on this one (Although should he really have been in the mountains celebrating with an impending storm on the horizon?)

In unrelated news, the Brewers are building a statue of Bud Selig. I was trying to think of something witty to write after that, but that really is it's own punchline.
Down here in DC, we've had about 20-30 inches with more on the way. So, it could be much worse up there in the 'Burgh'. I've spent way to much time lately shovelling "Climate Change" from my parking spot. Its been a long time since I've seen this much snow.
