PENS RECALL FIVE

The Penguins just announced that five players will be joining the team from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL: forwards Dustin Jeffrey, Christopher Minard and Jeff Taffe, defenseman Ben Lovejoy, and goaltender John Curry.

The players became available when Baby Pens' season ended last week with a Game Seven loss to Hershey. Hey, not every Game Seven opponent is a pushover like Washington.

As for their regular-season AHL stats, they look like this:

-Jeffrey had 11 goals, 26 assists in 63 games
-Minard had 34 goals and 23 assists in 54 games
-Taffe contributed 25 goals and 50 assists in 74 games
-Lovejoy had 7 goals, 24 assists, and 84 penalty minutes in 76 games
-Curry was 33-15-1 with a 2.38 GAA and .916 save percentage in 50 games

Barring an injury, don't expect to see any of these guys in game action anytime soon. But it's nice to have them part of the team and the atmosphere at such a crucial time of the season.
