PENS FAN MEET-UP

For the third time since 2006, the city of Pittsburgh will be descending on the city of Detroit in hopes of capturing a championship. And you know what that means. Yinzer road trip!

Mikey and Kiss 96.1 will be at The Anchor Bar starting around 2-3 PM until gametime at 450 W Fort St, Detroit, MI 48226 - (313) 964-9127. All of you black-and-gold bleeders can congregate there and debate the merits of octopus vs. pierogi. And "get ready" for the game (wink, wink).

Fox and Hound is good. There is also a place called Sullivan's Speak Easy. It's underneath the Palm on Broad Street. Not really a Pittsburgh bar, but it's a very cool bar with a small, but good menu and great TV's/ embiance. Might be a little more $$ than Fox and Hound though.

McFadden's in South Philly is cool too, as is Chickie's and Petes, but they're both cesspools of Philly ignorance.

Pens in 7...

At the Anchor Bar in Detroit, I mean.

I've been told the Bayou Bar & Grill on Main Street in Philly is a Steelers Bar, as well as O'Neals on 3rd Street.

Haven't been to either for a Pens game though, so I'm not sure if love of the Black and Gold applies to all teams.

I'd try giving them a call first.

I have come to a certain conclusion. It is as follows:

After they won the 2003 World Series and broke the curse, the Boston Red Sox said that they would not have won if they had succeeded in trading for A-rod the previous off season.

I am going to draw a similar conclusion with this years penguins. Had we signed Hossa, and thereby ruining our cap room, we would not will this year's Stanley Cup.
