Injured Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar practiced with the team at Southpointe this morning, reports KDKA's Mike Zappone. No word on whether or not his keyboard-themed t-shirt had any effect on his rapidly-improving health. Says the KDKA Sports Insider:
"Today is an optional practice for the team and likely won't last an hour but Gonchar is testing out his injured knee. No word on whether he'll be healthy enough to play in Game 7 tomorrow. Honestly, I'd be shocked if Gonchar is able to go."

Once again, we revisit the merits of having a player in a lineup at less than 100% as opposed to his replacement. This was a hot topic locally in football season when the debate pitted a banged-up Ben Roethlisberger against a healthy Byron Leftwich; but this is a Game Seven in the NHL playoffs, not a regular season NFL game. It's not quite apples and apples. This is a do-or-die situation.
Again, here's the hit that caused the injury. I'm not so sure this is something a guy bounces back from in a few days, but if Gonchar can pull it off, more power to him.

I think we need a epic youtube pump up video post like you did when for (if memory serves me correct) the Steelers/Ravens AFC championship game from this year.
1. I believe that's an accordian, not a keyboard on Sergei.
2. For millionaires, these guys dress almost as poorly as I did back in college. (Is Geno trying to gain more fans up North with that Canadian tuxedo?)
