SID OUT OF ALL-STAR GAME

Finally, common sense prevails, and Sidney Crosby will not be participating in the upcoming NHL All-Star Game. The doctors advised Sid to rest his injured knee for four to five days, and that's exactly what he's going to do. Don't forget, this is the second straight All-Star game that Sid's missed due to injury, as he wasn't available for last season's contest in Atlanta due to a high-ankle sprain.

I'm sure the NHL doesn't want to see this happen, as it's akin to a PGA event without Tiger Woods - it's simply not the same. But in the best interest of Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, it's the right choice.

In other news, the NHLPA wants to junk the All-Star Game as an annual event, in favor of an annual break highlighted by "the Olympics, a World Cup, an all-star game or perhaps a spectacular hockey convention". Wait, they want to get rid of the All-Star Game in favor of an All-Star Game? I'm lost. Just give me the hockey convention.

How's he ever going to be 66 without dominating a few ASG's?

Obviously not, I was simply using sarcasm to relay the point that the All Star Game is meaningless.
