HINES WARD: THE MOVIE

Muhammad Ali. Jackie Robinson. Babe Ruth. Ty Cobb. These are all athletes that had one thing in common: they were the subjects of a movie. Now, it appears that one more name to the list: Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward:

Hines Ward, the Korean-American NFL player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his mom, Kim Young-hee, have given the green light to a movie about their life.

Without Kim’s support, few believe Ward would have become the sports star he is today. To earn a living, Kim had to work 16 hours a day working as a grocery clerk and maid.

That's right, a Hines Ward movie, slated to be called My Mother. It adds to the long-standing relationship between the Steelers and the film industry, showcased most notably by Terry Bradshaw, whose resume features a dramatic turn in Cannonball Run (which surprisingly received no Oscar consideration) and his nude scene in Failure to Launch (which, thankfully, I've never seen). Let's hope Hines' movie sets the bar a little higher.

"...the only thing hiding it...hiding it...hiding it in the pool did was make it look purty"

I wonder what Mr. Madden has to say about this.

I think we might need a Steelers movie cast in the spirit of the Pirates movies that have been cast on here?

Of course, Coach Tomlin will be played by Omar Epps...

$100 says Ward's mom would wipe the floor with Ed Reed's mom.

Zanzabar - nice work. Love that movie. The only problem with hidin' it in the pool is now we have to go and re-tune it.

Bradshaw was also in the Burt Reynolds "classic" Hooper. The only thing I remember about that movie was the chick with the huge hooters jumping out of the cake.
