In the fourth round, the Steelers went back to the Texas Longhorn well, selecting offensive tackle Tony Hills. He's big, he's a proven commodity, and he's been part of some great teams. He also comes with a lengthy resume of injuries. And despite my implications, he is not connected with my beloved, defunct Hills Department Stores.
Notes on Hills:
--Started the first 11 games in 2007 and missed the final two due to a fibula fracture in his left leg
--Converted from tight end, his high school position, to O-line while at UT
--2007 Walter Camp First-Team All-American
--2006 ESPN/Mark May "All-MayDay Team"
--A member of the Vince Young-led 2005 Texas National Championship team
--Granted a medical hardship in 2003 at Texas, giving him time to recover from reconstructive surgery that repaired nerve damage in his knee
--Scouting report says he "lacks killer instinct"
--Participated in the Children's Miracle Network Telethon as a phone operator
Thoughts?
A long-range pick who you'll probably forget about this year. Don't look for much out of Hills for at least a season or two. As pundits would call it, "an unsexy pick".

Hills was the absolute best place to find Star Wars and G.I.Joe toys when I was a youngster...I hope he has a long and accomplished career w/ the team!
Hills was selected to the Camp All America team as a GUARD. That is likely where he will play as a pro. He is about the same size as Alan Faneca, and only converted to tackle from TE a couple of years back.
