The News: Snowed In Edition

For all of you displaced Yinzers, today is our first really bad snow day of the season. And since I spent the better part of my morning playing around with snow-related time wasters, The News is abridged for now. More links coming later...
--Wednesday is a big night in Pittsburgh, as Pitt takes on Duquesne. Dukes Court provides blanket coverage.
--The Pirates trade for both Miguel Cabrera AND Dontrelle Willis! Did I say Pirates? I meant Tigers.
--The Steelers could get Polamalu and Santonio back for the New England game, risking their 3-0 record without them.
--The FBI nabbed two at the Sunday nighter in Pittsburgh. No, neither was a Bengal.

--So Terrelle Pryor was in attendance at the Backyard Brawl?

--I somehow missed this, but SI's Dr. Z. said that Lawrence Timmons' stomp of Ricky Williams was deliberate. Hey, he hates drug users. Back off.
--The winner of NBC's Phenomenon picked the Steelers over the Pats, paying no attention to the 14-point spread the black and gold currently face.

--No one recaps an entire week of NHL mayhem quite like Goin Five Hole.

--So have you seen the video of the Zamboni that was on fire?

--According to Stephen A. Smith, bloggers should not be allowed to reach large audiences. Neither should Quite Frankly, but we put up with that for a while.
--A Denver Post columnist takes issue with the Steelers not playing the National Anthem on Monday Night Quagmire.

--Wondering how to slow down the Patriots next year? Epic Carnival has the answer.
--Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force goes off on the BCS and mentions my favorite 'stached head coach.

--Reader Rege gives us the breakdown of the BCS from a Youngstown, Ohio perspective:

OSU-Tressel- YSU 4 time Nat. Champs
Kansas- Mangino-YSU grauate
OK-Stoops born and raised on the South Side of Y-town

As if we needed more evidence that Bill Simmons is an idiot.

Don't look now, but I just saw an article Simmons wrote loosely based on Sid Bream's fatefull 1992 slide into home.

That Dixon guy who was arrested at Heinz Field looks suspiciously like former Steelers WR Jahine Arnold.

Also, I've always that that Stephen A. Smith looks like the character Spoony Luv from "Crank Yanker."

I saw that the Sports Guy wrote an article to himself circa 1982. I can only guess there were 7 references to THE KARATE KID and 4 references to the Celtics.

Mike Super is from my hometown of Clairton. He performed at my senior prom and hypnotized a girl, and had her eat a lemon after telling her that it was a juicy orange. She tore it up, and didn't even make that sour face.

that song from the Karate Kid played during the tournament (You're the best...Around! Nothing's ever going to keep you down!) is my phone ringtone. People that hear it know there is no other ringtone that could ever compare to it.

2 things wrong with jonny v:

1. Clairton
2. Ring tone

I went to a Pirate game last season, and "You're the best around, yadda yadda yadda yadda yad..." was Adam Laroche's at-bat music.
