Courtesy of Dennis at Pitt Blather, here's the new, leaked, Pitt "secondary logo". As Dennis points out, "Most people you ask will say any logo choice that the Pitt Athletic Department makes which doesn’t involve changing back to script is a wrong choice."
Whether you like the logo or not, remember, any mention of Pitt and/or Penn State on this site is fair grounds for a comments debate about why the other school sucks.

That logo sucks ass.
Why are they so stubborn!! Just give us back the mother-effin script! We want it, the students want it, the players want it... it's really not that big of a deal so just do it!
Now let's wait for Adam to come in and yap about Penn State or something.
regardless of whether or not I'm a Penn State fan, THAT THING LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING LAB!! Honest to God, look at the ears, that thing is a dog. You can't convince me its not.
I am a Pitt alum and I have to agree with Adam (I can't beleive I just wrote that) that thing does look like a Lab. Why the disembodied head again.
I second Louis, in that any Pitt gear I buy will only bear the script.
Did a blind artist create that logo? Nothing worse than when ownership (the Pirates) or management (Pitt AD) gives the middle finger to their supporters and says "I don't care what you want or like, this is what you're getting".
BRING BACK THE SCRIPT. FIRE LONG.
I searched high and low for a friggin script Pitt T-shirt.
Finally I had to just buy one off of their website for like $20 +shipping.
I was even in the official Pitt store of some sort on Forbes and couldn't find one.
Funny thing about the script. Some fans fight hard to get it off (Duke football fans (and yes, we do exist) waited until 2004 to get the Iron D back on the helmet), while others fight hard to get it back on. I guess one being associated with winning has more to do with it (as the Duke script has been associated with losing). I guess if you're gonna have the school's name on the helmet, either make it badass or classic. Block letters are not the way to go.
A PSU art student clearly came up with the new Pitt logo. horrible, just horrible.

chalk up one more vote for the old script logo.
The block letter PITT is as timeless a logo as they come. When Pitt wins its 10th football national championship I hope they are wearing the proud block letter "P". The block letter logo holds far more tradition than the 70's bell-bottom-font script Pitt.
One vote for tradition.
It looks like an otter. Or a very wet panther. I'm not too intimidated by a wet mascot.
And Penn State, by the way, sucks. It's been scientifically proven. That's why there's global warming... Too much hot air out of Penn State.
