You have to look outside of straight popu...@Louis,

You have to look outside of straight population and consider other factors. Nebraska brings eyeballs to TV sets on a national scale. The ratings never lie and Nebraska games still get numbers. Pitt games, on the other hand, do not draw a national audience. With Nebraska, you deliver audiences in Kansas City, St. Louis, and believe it or not, some of Dallas, TX. Tons of Cornhusker alums here in Texas. Besides television numbers, you also have to consider Nebraska an attractive bowl draw because they will bring 30K+ fans solid. Adding Nebraska solidifies bowl tie-ins for the conference which leads to more money for the conference. I have been to Pitt bowl games, and it is safe to say, the Panther fans don't travel well. The Big 10 gains no additional markets with the addition of Pitt and the Panthers are certainly not attractive from the perspective of a bowl committee because it means unsold tickets and hotel rooms.Dallas Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11729900655652634679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-40258691400472140452010-06-15T22:57:11.831-04:002010-06-15T22:57:11.831-04:00Sorry Louis. The Nebraska add proves that. If the Big Ten can land ND, I think Pitt has a good shot, because ND will deliver the east coast markets better than either Rutgers or Syracuse, perhaps even Maryland. If that's the case, Pitt is the better athletic and academic option.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523236755993371842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-9151180855581790852010-06-15T22:26:27.935-04:002010-06-15T22:26:27.935-04:00My point is, they're adding a very minimal amo...My point is, they're adding a very minimal amount of subscriptions because Nebraska's a pretty small state.

It makes no sense, considering all you hear is how they want to add giant markets like New York city to get more subscribers.

So they go in add a team in a podunk state that has less people than a corner of Pennsylvania.

It doesn't have much to do with Pitt, just how nonsensical it was considering their supposed motives.Louis Lipps is my homeboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09156545693381178335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-80733725966180346082010-06-15T22:03:48.795-04:002010-06-15T22:03:48.795-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-46629032320674438362010-06-15T22:02:24.216-04:002010-06-15T22:02:24.216-04:00To further illustrate my point:

There is still uncertainty as to whether Rutgers/Syracuse could deliver NYC cable providers. If Notre Dame is in, they'll deliver them better than both those schools combined, and because they trail Pitts programs academically and athletically, they should be in the back of the line.

The Nebraska add signaled that ratings are more important than new subscriptions in new states, which is very good news for Pitt IMO. Pitt still isn't the front runner, but it isn't dead in B10 expansion, not by a long shot.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523236755993371842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-6187140320747324182010-06-15T15:02:27.280-04:002010-06-15T15:02:27.280-04:00Damnit, the Piotr Czech era is over, again!Damnit, the Piotr Czech era is over, again!okel dokelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13034193951055275779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-24202752227899921322010-06-15T12:41:32.708-04:002010-06-15T12:41:32.708-04:00I hope the Pirates do a vuvuzela giveaway.
