Almost unlike any other position, early draft pick receivers take time to develop, and then when they do, usually jump ship for another team. I think its the dynamic of having 3 guys on the field with the same job. Also, its not usually the early draft picks that turn out to be good.Dr Obvioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00966038406811006557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-37988273391820201632006-11-30T20:49:00.000-05:002006-11-30T20:49:00.000-05:00Mondie,
It's good to see that you've already flus...Mondie,

It's good to see that you've already flushed this waste of a season down the commode and are doing the only thing that a tried and true fan can do: Planning the next draft!

I feel as you that a linebacker or O.L. will be drafted #1. I also feel that Michael Bush WILL BE THERE in the second round for the black and gold although they may pull off one of their patented "trade up" moves to get him.

Personally, I feel that they need to revamp the playbook in the offseason... more plays to Heath and a lot more plays designed to get the ball to Willie Parker in open spaces. Make Parker your third down back and an occasional first or second down change of pace to Bush punishing the tacklers. This way you can alternate punishing with chasing. I really like the sound of that!

I have to admit, I thought the receivers we have would do better, especially Cedric the Entertainer and "The Pride of Tiffin". Who knows, maybe their season is as much responsible for Big Ben's as his is for theirs'?
Is it time to hit the panic button with receivers? Maybe not, but that doesn't mean we can't draft some new ones.

The defense isn't nearly in as bad of shape as the offense. A few tweaks here and there and they should be formidable again. Getting rid of that big nouth Joey Porter is a great place to start.

The special teams are an unmitigated disaster. These players should all be roasted on a spit, individually, while the others are forced to watch. Their coach, Kevin Spencer should be roasted last. Cowher should be forced to turn the handle on the spit until they're all cooked since his stupid moves hurt the situation as badly as they did.

If the Steelers follow all of these instructions TO THE "T", they will be successful again in 2007worstavidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12141180171798154645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-14789712610726626162006-11-30T12:18:00.000-05:002006-11-30T12:18:00.000-05:00I have been yelling to anyone that will listen abo...I have been yelling to anyone that will listen about Michael Bush since the moment Bettis retired at the 50 yard line on that fatefull night in Detroit.

Maybe the injury makes his stock drop so badly that we can get a tackle or guard in the first, then steal him in the second. Doubt it, but it'd be nice.

Hey, anyone still want LenDale White?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-16441820994409648192006-11-30T10:47:00.000-05:002006-11-30T10:47:00.000-05:00Wait, Duce Staley's still on the team?Wait, Duce Staley's still on the team?mondesishousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16196483886553780303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-15701086466006197822006-11-30T09:57:00.000-05:002006-11-30T09:57:00.000-05:00I can see Kevin Colbert at the NFL Draft now. "Ye...I can see Kevin Colbert at the NFL Draft now. "Yeah, I'll take Michael Bush, running back, Louisville."

Idle crowd noises "Good pick; could have waited on that one; damn it."

Fantasy football draft jokes aside, what is Michael Bush's big board status after his injury. Had he been healthy, Antonio Cromartie could have been a top 5 pick (slipped later to the Chargers since he tore his ACL) and I feel the same way about Bush. Wouldn't mind seeing him in black and gold, but honestly, I think this team needs to take the best guard it can get early.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29893900.post-26660697196264123422006-11-30T09:31:00.000-05:002006-11-30T09:31:00.000-05:00how can you have no comment in your 2007 rb profil...how can you have no comment in your 2007 rb profile about mr. sideline-hand stuck in sweatpants?
oh wait, i guess he is easy to forget.
love your blog!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
